Final Fundraising Competition Totals

The bad news first... Unfortunately, the message to "note the team a donor asks be credited with the donation" did not make it to the right person. So, we can't include donations by check for a specific team. The original team totals stand.

Now for the good news... [drumroll, please]

During the fundraising competition, Valour-IT received $11,400 in donations by check. That means that the total raised via online and check donations was $99,733.44.

That's nearly $100,000 in only 10 days! To say that I'm stunned would be an understatement.

I'm amazed and astonished at the extraordinary generosity of the many people who donated in support of wounded military personnel who need voice-activated laptops. The smallest donation was $3.00 from a high school student who contacted Valour-IT about doing a school fundraiser for the project. The largest was $2500 from a philanthropic foundation. Between those two markers, 1,026 people donated an average of $95 to support Valour-IT's mission.

No single donor made this effort a success; it was truly a broad, grass-roots effort of people giving what they could to help our wounded warriors. I extend my humblest thanks to all who were involved in this effort--from the individual donors, through the team leaders and bloggers, to the Soldiers' Angels volunteers who opened envelopes and calculated totals.

"Thank you" is not enough; I can't express how bowled-over I am, and how impressed I am with everything that has happened. It's amazing. Thank you, thank you!

In an upcoming post, I will detail what the money raised is doing for our wounded troops.
